12th century Al-Baghawi's Masabih al-Sunnah is considered an important collection of hadiths that has been commented several times by later authors. Among them, 14th century Beyzâvî's Tuhfetü'l-Ebrâr, one of the first and complete commentaries of Al-Baghawi's work, and 15th century Ibn Melek's Commentary of Masabih al-Sunnah. These are the focus of the present comparative study that aims to shed light on the methods employed in the hadith commentaries, their sources, and the influence that author's affiliations can have on them.
