Did you know there is a Church-approved Marian apparition site in the United States? Marian apparitions are appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary, coming down from heaven to earth, to one or more people. In 1859, Mary appeared three times to a young woman named Adele Brise in the Wisconsin frontier.
During the third apparition, Adele froze in her tracks at the sight of a beautiful woman, clothed in dazzling white, with a yellow sash around her waist. She had a crown of stars around her head, and her long, wavy, golden hair fell loosely over her shoulders. The lady in white introduced herself to Adele as the Queen of Heaven. Today, people from all over the United States and the world visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Champion, Wisconsin, located on the spot where Mary appeared to Adele.
Go and Fear Nothing brings to life for young people this incredible real-life story and Our Lady's message of praying for the conversion of sinners, learning our catechism, receiving the sacraments with devotion, and relying on her unfailing help. When we doubt ourselves or feel like we need to make excuses for our weaknesses, we can remember Our Lady's words to Adele: "Go and fear nothing. I will help you."
