What does God expect in a church? Glitz? Glamor? Glitter? Gold? Does God expect His people to adapt to society, do it their way, or put ourselves before the Savior? Or does God want us to honor Him and remember that first and foremost, since He is the One Who said, "I will build My church" (Matthew 16:18), it is His blueprint that we must use to do it? So, what is God's blueprint to build His church? Since one of my favorite sayings is "What does the Bible say," perhaps we should allow the Scriptures to provide us with His plans for His church so we can do God's church God's way and not our own. The goal of this book is to dive deeply into the Scriptures and discover how God built His church when it was first established so we can emulate that design for His church today. It is to seek out the characteristics of first century church-life that God commended and seek to duplicate those characteristics on the modern church today. As a reason to do so, think about this: Since God's plan was so successful, we still have churches today. May the words of this book encourage you to do God's church God's way today.
