Tax Exemption
Due to national Nexus rulings, Cokesbury must collect taxes in all 50 states. We previously only collected taxes in states with a permanent fixture or staff member.
Tax is removed from web orders when you use your tax-exempt Cokesbury charge account number as the payment method. During the Check Out process, select the “Cokesbury Account” button as your payment method and then enter the name on the account and the Cokesbury account number that has a tax-exempt state certificate on file.
If you are unsure of your tax status or need help setting this up, our accounting department will be happy to assist you:
Accounting / Credit Services: 1-888-343-4477
Email: creditservice@umpublishing.org
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Central Time
Saturday & Sunday: Closed
You can email your tax exempt state certificate to creditservice@umpublishing.org or fax it to our Credit Services department at 615-749-6079. Please include the account number and your contact information as well.
After Credit Services receives and validates your certificate, the tax status on your Cokesbury account will be updated to reflect that change.
State tax rules vary across the country as far as tax exemption for institutions, churches, and product categories, including shipping. Cokesbury’s systems are updated monthly with all state and local changes to each state’s tax structure. Account tax exempt status changes are updated twice per week.
Any taxes charged on an account in the last 30 days can be credited back upon receipt of the tax exemption certificate. Please call our Credit Services department at 1-888-343-4477 after sending in your certificate to request credit.
Estimate Tax and Postage
Simply enter your zip code and preferred shipping method and you will see an estimate of tax and shipping charges for your order before you proceed to checkout. Estimates are based on standard shipping to addresses within the continental U.S. Tax exemption and promotion code discounts will not be reflected in these estimates.
