Session 1 - "The Word Made Flesh" - Adam Hamilton makes introductory remarks about the Gospel of John and invites us to consider the question "What does Jesus mean?" In other words, does Jesus' life change anything for you?

Session 2 - Seven “miraculous signs” are recorded in John’s Gospel. The stories of these miraculous signs may be read on two levels: a surface level and a deeper level.

Session 3 -The Gospel of John records seven “I am” sayings of Jesus. We discuss two of the sayings: “I am the bread of life” and “I am the light of the world.”

Session 4 - Jesus says his parting words to the disciples (the Farewell Discourse). Hamilton notes that the image of bearing fruit for Christ is another way of saying we are to love each other, and we are challenged to be intentional in bearing fruit and sharing the love of Christ.

Session 5 - In presenting Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion, John focuses on Jesus’ royalty and kingship, in contrast to the synoptic gospels that focus on Jesus’ humanity.

Session 6 - We review John's version of the events that took place after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, exploring the experience of Mary Magdalene and noting the significance of the garden in John's Gospel and in the biblical story as a whole.
